Is there a cost to be a Cohord Contractor?

£0. The only cost is your commitment to keeping your profile updates, and liaising with the Cohord Agents if/when information is required in a timely manner.

How do clients I am not connected with discover me?

Initially work with our experienced onboarding team, and then Agent to build and refine your profile. From here, new clients use ‘Scout’ (see ‘For Companies’ for more info) to discover new contractors. Scout uses a sophisticated algorithm, based on the precise thought process an experienced contract recruiter would use to put you in the right place at the right time.

Does Cohord cover my skill set?

For launch, Cohord is focusing on: AI, ML, Data, Javascript, Python and Design (UX, Product) skill sets in the UK only. We intend to expand this in November 2026 so please stay tuned, or join the waiting list with your skill set made clear.

How will I hear about new positions, or if I have been Benched?

Cohord can contact you however you prefer. Primarily, Agent uses WhatsApp or Slack for urgent communication, for non-urgent matters you can set your preferences: platform notifications, emails, Slack, WhatsApp.

What if I am unavailable for new projects?

Perfect! You will not show up in Scout searches, and your live-time availability will be reflected on your clients' Benches tab. Agent will be in regular touch to ensure no changes to your availability. If you feel you may be coming available sooner than expected, just let Agent know and it will handle your visibility from there.

What about IR35?

Clients are encouraged to make this designation before approaching their network. You can set your profile preferences to open to in/outside. In the case of a dispute, Cohord is partnered with an expert agency that performs an objective designation, for a small fee (paid by the client).
